The hugely ambitious Tog Boathouse build on Tiree was completed in July of this year, and was passed to the Tiree MaritimeTrust, after being crowned “The Noust” (a Viking word for a shelter, where boats would be stored over the winter).

Since the completion of the The Noust, the Tog team have been working tirelessly to raise the profile of this exciting and unique project, which was the latest in a series of ambitious builds spearheaded by the company to develop a sense of “learning by doing” amongst architects, engineers, students and other members of the design community.

As a sponsor of the project (we supplied all of the beautiful Siberian Larch cladding which is shown in the picture above) and participants in the build, we were delighted to hear that their quest for publicity has been successful, with a number of articles, plus a radio feature, having popped up in architectural publications over the last few weeks.

Additionally, The Noust has been shortlisted for the Glasgow Institute of Architects awards, in the Small Works category.  Russwood is sponsoring this event for the second year running, and John Russell (Managing Director) and Martin Hall (Flooring Advisor) will be there on the night cheering on the Tog team..good luck!
