We were delighted to see The Stihl Treetop Walkway at Westonbirt Arboretum pick up the Commercial & Leisure Award at last night's Wood Awards 2016 awards ceremony. 'The Wood Awards is the UK’s premier competition for excellence in architecture and product design in the world’s only naturally sustainable material. The Awards aim to recognise, encourage and promote outstanding design, craftsmanship and installation using wood.'

Designed by Glenn Howells Architects, the walkway stands 13.5 metres high and weaves through trees for 300 metres. The project recently featured in the Autumn edition of our Russwood Profile and the case study can be viewed here.

The overall award was won by Maggie’s at the Robert Parfett Building, designed by Foster + Partners. The full list of Wood Award 2016 Winners can be viewed here; woodawards.com/winners-2016.
