Thermopine®
Thermopine® decking, produced from modified European-grown Scots Pine using a process involving heat, steam, and pressure, offers enhanced stability and durability over non-modified timbers. The thermal modification results in reducing the wood’s propensity to shrink and swell while also enhancing its resistance to wood-destroying organisms, making it an excellent choice for decking projects.

Grade
Heartwood of Scandinavian Scots Pine, thermally modified to create a dimensionally stable timber free from resin. Re-graded in-house to our own exacting standards.
Weathering
Uncoated boards have a uniform dark honey brown colour which will quickly weather to grey.
Sustainability
Sustainably sourced from well managed forests. PEFC certified.
Durability
Exceptional durability (Class 2 - 3 BS EN 350-2) due to thermal modification.
Appearance
Prominent figuring with an abundance of structurally sound live round and splay knots, some of which display cracks and chipped-off edges after machining. An occasional dead knot cannot be ruled out.
Density
Low - classified by BS EN 350-2 as approximately 420 Kg/m³ at a moisture content of approximately 6-8%.
Profile Options
Thermopine® decking can be produced in the following profiles, RW214 and RW215 (Gripdeck). These are specifically designed for use with SenoFix® for a refined appearance and enhanced performance.
Stability
Thermal treatment results in substantially reduced swelling and shrinking of the timber, reducing dimensional movement by up to 50% making Thermopine® a very stable timber.
Surface Finish
Can be produced in a planed or wire-brushed finish, we can also add Gripdeck.
