What is Contour flooring?

Our Contour range is an ultra-modern and elegant, lightly brushed Oak flooring option. Supplied brushed and pre-finished, Contour Oak flooring is available in solid or engineered boards. To create a beautifully textured surface, wire brushes are used to pull out the softer spring wood, exposing the harder summer wood and thus accentuating the grain. The uniquely soft colour hues of Contour Oak flooring are achieved by staining the brushed oak with specially formulated hydro-stains before finishing with an Osmo Polyx® Hardwax oil.

European Oak is widely considered to be the finest available worldwide due to it’s attractive colouring, figuring and durability properties. All Russwood oak flooring originates from the same highest quality raw material, making grade selection purely an aesthetic preference.

Which colours are available?

Contour boards are supplied pre-finished in a choice of 9 different colours – from whites, through greys, to brown with light hints of purple. These softly toned colours have been specially formulated to highlight the pronounced grain and beautiful figuring of the oak, resulting in a striking finish.

Russwood’s in-house expertise was greatly appreciated, especially in the early stages. The team was very knowledgeable and kept us on the right track with product choice and what was and wasn’t possible. Russwood were available throughout the project to answer technical queries which was a great bonus when trying to deliver a high end product and get it right first time round.
