For timber substrates that require Euro class B Spread of Flame (equivalent to UK class O) Russwood recommend HR-Prof, as a water based ready-to-use solution that is absorbed into the surface of the substrate.
The advantages of HR-Prof are summarised as follows;
The treatment is leach-resistant , meaning that it can be used without a protective coating, allowing the cladding to weather naturally over time
- No re-application
Reapplication of the treatment will not be required during the life of the timber
Timber treated with HR-Prof does not react with stainless steel nails
- Colourless, odourless, non-toxic and solvent free
This is a water-based solution which can quickly and easily be applied on-site and will not affect the look of the timber once dry
- Fire protection
Dramatically slows down fire spread and reduces heat and smoke generation, saving lives and restricting fire damage costs
- The solution should be stirred well and applied (at a minimum temperature of 5°c) using a brush, roller or spray
- The drying time between coats will be at least one hour (full drying time will take approximately 24 hours, at a temperature of 20°C/relative humidity 65)
- Safety googles and gloves should be worn when handling the solution
Three coats will usually be required, depending on moisture content of the substrate and atmospheric conditions, giving a total coverage of 270ml per square metre.
HR Prof is supplied in containers of the following volumes;
- 1 litre
- 5 litres
- 20 litres
